Ramanan Lab

We study how astrocytes develop and how they become reactive in response to brain injuries and in neurodegenerative diseases in the mammalian brain.  We use a combination of mouse genetics, molecular, biochemical, cell biological and behavioral approaches to study these stars of the brain.
